Should I take on another W?

I’m a Junior studying Business administration. I’ve had to take two hardship withdrawals (HW) due to unexpected surgeries, and one withdrawl due to a family member being hospitalized from an accident; which made me emotionally unstable.

I thought that this would be the end of the HW and W’s found in my transcript but now I’m taking a professor that is honestly very difficult. I found myself doing his coursework instead of focusing on the core requirements for my major and minor. His class is just need for me to graduate. I asked my advisor, and she said drop it if it’ll conflict with my gpa. Then I talked to the professor and he told me to put more work into his class, which I don’t have time to do. So, right now, I’m debating on if I should drop this class or stick it out till my midterm and final exam grades take affect. They count for most of my grade, like 60%. Right now I’m failing his class because I missed two labs. The reason was because I had to take someone to the hospital unexpectedly, then the other reason was that I got caught behind a car accident. He does not accept late students in his class or retakes for labs and certain coursework.

I’m worried if all of these HW and W’s will affect me from transferring to another University to go to business school as well. What do all of you think?

Dude. You’re in college. I’m not going to tell you that you can’t drop it, but you can’t miss labs and then expect for it to be easy. Also, using the “I don’t have time” excuse is not appropriate. In your post you stated that you got stuck BEHIND a car accident and you missed a lab. If time was really an issue to you, you would make sure you got there. I am not in college, so maybe I don’t understand, but you can’t just drop stuff and leave every time it gets difficult.

Re: taking someone to the hospital…don’t miss a lab because of that. Ambulance, Taxi or Uber. You have to be able to prioritize yourself. For the accident, you need to leave a bit of time for getting to work in the future as well.

Are you in the drop add period or past that?
Will you still be full time?
How will you handle making up the credits you have withdrawn from?

It may make sense to withdraw from the class…Withdrawals because of medical issues can’t be helped.

“I’m worried if all of these HW and W’s will affect me from transferring to another University to go to business school as well.”

Can you clarify…are you thinking of transferring as an undergrad? Or are you talking about going to graduate school to get your Masters or MBA?
