Should I take pharmacy tech?

Hi guys.

I need help on deciding whether or not I should take a pharmacy tech program. The program is being offered to seniors and will be taking up 4 periods. One of my main interest is pharmacy, but it’s not my only interest. I intend to go into medicine and am currently exploring. Do you guys think that I should take this?

My schedule would look like this if I’m not taking it.

  1. AP Literature and Composition
  2. US Government (1st Semester) Film Studies (2nd Semester)
  3. AP Biology
  4. AP European History
  5. Genetics (1st Semester) Marine Biology (2nd Semester)
  6. Weight Training (1st Semester) Business Commercial (2nd Semester)
  7. AP Calculus AB
  8. Animal Science 1

Feel free to offer any advice on the schedule if I decide to drop pharmacy tech. If I do take pharmacy tech then 3, 4, 7, and 8th period would be taken up. Another things is that I haven’t taken any AP classes, but I have taken honors and concurrent enrollment classes. I really want to challenge myself for senior year. Thanks again.

If you have never taken an AP, 4 might be a lot, especially considering that all 4 might require a lot of work. There will probably be a lot of reading in Lit, Euro, and maybe Bio, and a lot of problems and labs in Calc and Bio. Do you still have requirements you have to take to graduate?

Without considering requirements, I would probably take the pharmacy program if you are genuinely interested in it.
