This year I'm transferring to a new school, so I'll be an incoming new 10th grader. Earlier during the school year in about April, I had to take a online math placement test and the month I received my schedule. They placed me in Precalc as my math; however, I've never taken geometry. On the other hand, I have taken algebra II and I am good at trig. I wanted to know is my background in math strong enough to take PreCalc, which is something that I really want take. I just don't want to drown myself, since I'm also taking a course at my school called college chemistry and I've heard that its really hard. Also, on the first day I'll have to take another math placement test, which I don't know why though.
Honestly, if its possible, I would take both this year. Geometry’s an important class to take, but at the same time if you’re at a precalc level, you don’t want to go a year without practicing those higher level skills.
If that doesn’t work, I would take geometry, then precalc because you don’t want to have to go back and take geometry later.
What math classes will be available to you? Taking Geo (10), Pre-calc (11), AP Calc AB (12) is a great way to go if possible. If you are doing STEM you want to make sure you have that Geometry.
I would try to go with @snowfairy137 plan- take them concurrently, and that way you can advance in math quicker (if you feel up to doing that).
Okay, thank you for the input guys.
