in case i screw up on the verbal part of the SAT to show the college that at least i know another language?
and i study spanish for 4 years now if i take that too do these tests make me look better?
or i should just forget it?

I am assuming that you are Chinese.

A Harvard student told me "Harvard does not care if a Chinese kid gets an 800 on the SATII Chinese. However, if he gets anything below an 800, then he just looks like a dumbass."

I laught everytime I think about this statement. And sadly, it is true. An 800 score only places you at 56th percentile. So don't even bother. Might as well try to impress the colleges with a high Spanish score if you want.

But overall, nothing can replace your verbal score.

Ok, native people should not take their own language tests...

Like the person before me said, if you do poorly (790 in this case), you look like a "dumbass". Also, just in general, you seem like a person who's taking it just to prove something that's obvious.

It screws up the curve for people who actually are not Chinese and took the time to study it and learn it.

:)

well, in your previous post, Fay sais that you will get "A++++++++++++++" on the "AP Chinese" test (1 to 5 scale buddy). All this crap, about "you will look like a dumass" is bananas beacuse it adds to ur variety and any admissions officer that sets such a double standard should be fired and exiled to Canada.

go ahead and take it even if ur chinese. however dont consider it one of ur main tests. do it as an additional test just so that u will get another good score on ur transcript. and if ur chinese, be dead sure ur getting an 800 on the practice tests.
