I'm a junior and have yet to take Pre-Calc. Stanford is one of my top choices, but I really don't know if I could take Math Level 2 seeing as how I have no experience with Pre-Calc yet.

Why don't you take math level 1?

Doesnt stanford highly recommend level 2?

so just take Math Level 1 now, see how you do on it, then see if you are ready for L2. Just look through practice books, I know a lot of books do level 1 and 2 together in one book, so try the practice examples for each level and see which one is for you as of right now.

The curve on Math L1 is pretty harsh. Go through a prep book and see if you're able to do L2. It has a really generous curve. Stanford does highly recommend L2. I don't see the point in taking L1 right now.

If you haven't taken pre-calc then you shouldn't take Math Level 2. Stick to Math Level I. But anyway, you should try out some sample questions and see which you feel most comfortable with:

study really hard over the summer and take math level 2 in october. it has a lenient curve. UCs don't even count math level 1.

if you can, take precal over the summer.

isn't there not much of a point in taking level IC if you're going to end up taking IIC anyway? I mean, I am supposed to be taking level IC this year (soph), but if I'm taking IIC junior year, I know i'll do better on the IIC than the IC... partially because of the better curve, and also because I'll still know more math, even if the IIC is harder. Wouldn't stanford not really look at the IC and care more about the IIC anyway?

i agree. no pre-calc yet... don't take level II till you've had it

If you have yet to take pre-calc, do NOT take Math Level II.

Don't worry, you'll be fine.
