Should I take SAT II Physics without taking the class?

Let me explain. I will be taking AP Physics C for senior year, but I also want to take the SAT II Physics test this October. I thought this would be a good preparation for the class and an opportunity to earn a good score. Is this feasible or not? How hard is the SAT II Physics test? Should I just try retaking SAT Chemistry, even though I completely bombed it last time?

What’s your physics background? The Subject Test in physics is not exactly a subject you can just walk in cold on testing day - you need preparation.

Actually… none. I’m hoping to study physics over the summer and for 2 months with Princeton REview and Sparknotes. Is this not a good idea?

In my opinion, no. Take a subject test in a subject that you have actually taken in school.

@InGuy3 I think you could self study if you had the time. Physics is math based, with lots of concepts. Good luck! Let me know if you have any questions.
