if you didnt get a 2400 why wouldnt you re-take?

personally i think that is pretty good score…unless you want to go to like harvard or something. Remember colleges also consider gpa, rank and stuff you kniw.
If you are sure that you can score higher than that…go for it.

ya thats not too shabby of a score but if you think you can get higher you would be stupid not to re-take.

ok. thanks. i’m probably going just retake in june. or should i do it fall of senior year?

short answer: no.

long answer: go have a life instead. those scores are excellent. no.

Retake it! Your score is terrible!

Short Answer: Depends on where you want to apply.

Long Answer: If you’re applying to HYP 1470 is in the middle 50%, but does not “stand out”. Once you get past about 1450, you don’t really improve in their eyes with SAT I scores but a 2400 never looks bad. Also, scoring 800 on your SAT II’s is a far more worthwhile accomplishment than increasing that already good SAT I by ~50-100 points. Finally, if you’re applying anywhere else that score is already quite good enough, Go outside and enjoy your spring break.

The 1470 is considerably below median for the unhooked at all ivies other than Corneell.

Don’t take it again - write your essays, study for and do well on your SAT II’s, spend 4hrs on a Saturday doing something enjoyable. You got a great score that won’t be a deterrent at any school, not even at HYP
