Should I take Subject Tests?

Hi,
As the due dates for applications are coming soon I have no idea what to do. I took the SAT a month ago in October and I got a 1130 (530 M, 600 RW) and I was planning on taking two subject tests, physics and math 2. The problem is I’m applying for chemical engineering to most of the UC’s and I don’t know if it’s more convenient to take the SAT again or go ahead and take the subject tests. I’m applying to UCI, UCSD, UCLA, UCD, UCR, UCSC and Berkeley. Thank you!

Students take subject test to demonstrate their mastery in the subject. Often take Math 2 right after Pre-Cal in June. So, they are usually very competent and many get maximum point of 800. Unless you are confident that you can get, say, 700 for your Math 2 or Physics, in my humble opinion there is really no additional benefit to your applications to these schools.

@tintinhope I am not too sure how much would I get since it’s the first time, and my low SAT scores already make me too insecure. I guess I’m just too anxious, as I obviously don’t want it to be used against me.
