Should I take the ACT again?

My ACT composite score is 34, pretty good.
The components:
English 35
Math 36
Science 36
and then…
Reading 28

Reading is my weak link in everything. Maybe I could bring reading up enough to have a 35 overall, but I’m not sure if I should bother.
I’m planning on applying to some competitive schools for math/science.
Should I bother trying to take the ACT again, or should I just go with my 34?

How would you feel if the next time you received English 35, Math 34, Science 34, Reading 33 and composite of 34?

Would you continue to chase that rabbit around and around? Or are you assuming that the only way your scores can go is up?

Maybe it is better to leave well enough alone, especially if you are applying to Math/Science programs. 36 is not a bad subscore in Math or in Science; you could do much worse. 34 is not a bad composite (at 99%, it is Excellent- Congratulations!). It is good enough not to keep you out of any school there is.

No.

Congrats on great score, but if you are applying to elite Universities you got to ask yourself:
Is the rest of my application up to mark, like GPA, Subject test scores, EC’s? If I spend time upgrading reading score, will it take time away from other preparation? Do the Universities I apply to super score?
