I'm currently a senior right now and I've taken the SAT I. I live in California and wanted to know if I should take the ACT... I'm worried that my SAT I scores aren't high enough for the top UC schools (Berkeley, UCLA, UCSD). My superscore is 2300, but my highest sitting is 2190. Will my low SAT I score hurt my chances of getting in to these schools?
I have finals soon, so I don't know if I should take the ACT or not take the ACT and focus on my finals instead...

*Aside from SAT I, I have pretty good SAT subject scores, a 3.9 UW GPA, and have a few extra curricular activities.

I would really appreciate any suggestions!

I wouldn’t take the ACT because your SAT scores are already very good. Just try to maintain your grades and enjoy senior year!

Thank you for your suggestion!
I still don’t know what to do…

I’m just a sophomore right now but I think your SAT I scores are definitely high enough for UC Berkeley. My sister got in with with a 2160 and a 2250 superscored, and a lot of her friends got in with much lower than that. She didn’t have any special ECs at all. Good luck!

I think you’re fine. I’ve known people who’ve gotten into UCB/ UCLA with SAT scores ranging from 1800 to mid 1900s. But they had the school grades and extra curics to back it up, so since you have both, I think you’d get in no problem.
