Should I take the ACT?

I want to take the ACT to see if I can get a better score on that than the SAT. I've heard that some people have somewhat of a predilection towards one test. The only thing is I hate science. I've taken honors bio, chem, and physics but I really didn't do stellar in any of them (I did decent in physics).

So is it worth taking, accounting for the fact that I'll probably do terrible on the science section?

I would suggest taking the ACT to see how well you do. If you don’t do real well, then you can focus your preparation on the SAT and try to do your best on that. But you will never know until you try.

Science on the ACT is very different from the science you learn in school. A background knowledge of science is helpful, and you already have that because of the courses you have taken. Succeeding on the Science section of the ACT really comes down to comprehension and analysis. If you can analyze data, graphs, and charts, you will do well. Being a good reader will help you with comprehending the passages.

That being said, I would try the ACT if I were you. I didn’t do very well on the SAT and did much better on the ACT. My advice: Take the ACT after preparing a little and you can always decide to focus on the SAT if you don’t do real well. Each test fits people differently.

Thanks for the input
