should i take the act?

I just got my score for the sat back-1960. it's my 3rd time taking it and I got the EXACT SAME score!! it's an okay score for most of my colleges but i really wanted a higher score for my reach schools(tufts, brandeis,bu) which are all regular decision apps. for me. should i take the act? some of my freinds have taken it and said it was easier?

my only main concern is will it get to the colleges in time for regular decision if I take it on december 13th? how long does an act score w/ writing typically take to be sent to a college?

otherwise i will just send only my sat score :/

thanks!

btw with your 1960, BU is a match unless applying for full ride

Try the ACT this Saturday as a standby - who knows you may do extremely well and it will give you a chance to become familiar with the exam. And you’ll be able to take it a second time in December.

Seriously though, I got a 181 on the PSAT but a 31 on the ACT. As you can see, there’s a huge difference between my projected SAT score and my ACT score. Seeing how you did significantly better than me on the SAT, you certainly have a chance at scoring very well on the ACT. I definitely recommend taking it - it could give you a better chance in admissions and could give you an edge in scholarships.

And yes, Dec ACT will be acceptable for RD.
