I took the SATs last year & got an 1840. I retook it again in October of this year and got a 1930. I don't feel like my score is competitive enough to go to schools like Carnegie Mellon so I want to take the ACTs. My friend who had a similar SAT score took the ACTs & got a 32 so I reckon I'll do better as well. The thing is, I'm a senior. My application deadlines are in January & I read that ACT scores can take as long as up to Feburary to process if you take them in December. Will this be a problem? Should I take the ACTs or should I just stick with my SAT scores? Also, note that I will be taking subject tests 7 days before the day of the ACT.

Take the ACT. 1930 isn’t competitive for Carnegie Mellon.

I think we have a lot in common. I’m also taking the subject tests a week before the ACT and applying to cmu and my sat score is around a 2000.
I think you should try the act and that is actually what I’m doing too.
