I am currently taking APLAC at school, therefore, I wanted to take the AP exam this may. But my ap teacher told me that I am going to fail the test, so he doesn’t want me to waste my money. Since I go to a really competitive high school, everyone in my class is going to take the exam. Any advice on what I should do??
Did he tell you why he thinks you’re going to fail? Did you ask him what you can do better?
Since I have to head to my next period, I couldn’t ask him a lot of questions. He did say that even though I am doing fine in the class, the AP test might be a struggle for me.
It all really depends on your abilities. A teacher should never discourage a student like that. But, evaluate yourself. Have you been scoring poorly on your essays and MC? Do you know your rhetorical terms?
Remember, there’s 2 months left, so if you are not confident, get a prep book and review. If you feel you shouldn’t take the test, then dont. Also, as the above poster said, if there is a legitimate reason he doesn’t want you to take the test (if he sees you’ve been struggling), then see what you can do from there.
