I was wondering if it is wise to take the AP Human Geography Exam without taking the class. I would learn from a review book and review book flashcards, and basically learn the information just by myself. I am really good at geography as is, and know almost the entire world map. Also, I'm a history person, and love everything about geography. I am currently enrolled in APUSH, AP Bio, and AP English, so I think I have proper experience and will now how to study for it. However, I am wondering if anyone out there took it before with out taking the class(the class isn't offered at my high school) and could help me out?

I agree with the above poster; study the subject if you want, but don’t take the exam unless the schools you’re interested in will give credit for it.

AP Human Geography is considered one of the easiest APs. It’s also the AP exam taken by the most freshmen. I think it would be no problem to self-study.

When my daughter took it, she used the Ethel Wood review book and recommends it.

However, HuG is a lot more than knowing the world map. Physical geography is a very small portion of the test. I’d look at a review book or at the material on the College Board website to get a better idea of what’s actually on the test.
