Should I take the chem sat IIs?

I took honors chem freshman year and am currently enrolled in ap chem as a junior. I did well in honors, and I'm doing okay in ap (highs 80s/mid 90), but I'm not sure I should take the SAT II. I already took Bio and did well on it, as well as a world history, and will be taking US history and one of the math ones. I have opted out of taking the spanish one because language isn't my strength. Is the sat II chem hard? Is it even worth me taking it?

I think the Chem is one of the better tests. Get a study book and as long as you know your mols and sig figs (lol) you should be fine.

It depends on your scores till date. If you've already got/ will get 750 plus in 3 tests, there's very little point in doing another. (Save for hubris, or personal testing) But then, this is coming from a person who took 5, :).

SAT Chem has a generous curve, but it tends to be a bit tricky at times, if you're not concentrating. (I kept getting high 700's but I couldn't break 800 until a few days before the test, then it was pretty consistent)

You need to get into a frame of mind for SAT Chem that requires quite a bit of practice...

In addition, are you planning on majoring in something Chem related/applying to a primarily engineering/technological college? If so, then taking Chem might be worthwhile. I'd say it's a decision you've got to make based upon whether you feel it'll be worthwhile to you in the admissions process (captain obvious here :D)

I think if you get a reviewbook and take enough tests - you should get 750+

like, Shrivats, I too kept getting high 700's and only once did I even get an 800 on the practice test - but come test day I got an 800

SAT Chem is not even close to being as hard as Bio - the curve is better too!

yea, just get some review books (PR is pretty good for chem ive heard) and see how you do
if you think you can do well then take the test
