Should I take the December ACT or not?

I took October SAT and improved by merely 10 points...
I'm a senior right now and I'm debating whether or not I should try the ACT. Since my apps are due before Dec. ACT scores come out, I'm thinking of sending my SAT score first. Then if I get a better ACT score, I'll send that one to the colleges. Will the adcoms still look at my December ACT score even if I already submitted a SAT score? On the other hand, if I do poorly on the ACT, can I just not send my score to the colleges?

I am taking it in December, because some of the schools I’m applying to have mid-January deadlines, and they will receive the score by then. I say send your SAT (it will be superscored). If you do poorly on the ACT, then simply don’t send it. Right now you can study to ensure you don’t do poorly.
