i am currently a freshman. last quarter i pledged which pretty much took up all of my time. i didnt really get to do anything else.
i have a job offer off campus that would require 10-15 hrs a week. i know that isnt a lot.
i dont want to take it because i want a break this quarter from pledging and all that stuff
i want to take it because it's a good offer and i dont know if i will get it again
what should i do?

make a list of pros and cons, and keep in mind you’re about to have 3 weeks of vacation in which to recharge.
besides you can always take the job and if it’s too much, cut back, but you can’t not take the job and then ask for the job. if you follow that convoluted sentence lol.
what are your reasons for taking the job- is it financial? study-related? will it help your resume? is it crucial that you do this now, or can you get a similar offer later?
all of these things, only you know ;)

im prelaw. the job is at a patent law firm which is what i am considering as a career. this would be good experience to see what it’s like. its not financial

then you have to evaluate the value of taking the job, and getting a kickstart on your career, over the value of focusing on school.
which is more important to you as a freshman? can you handle both, or do you want to focus on school/college experience now, and look into jobs/careers down the road? maybe you want to start career-related things now, so you can see what law’s all about and not have to wonder until you find another job later.
all comes down to what you want to spend your freshman year focusing on!

ugh decisions..

Just do it, don’t regret not checking it out..

I’d take it if I were you. If you need to quit, just quit.

i guess i am

Wait…I thought you were an engineer?

Pre-law engineer. Cool

haha yeah..

You have a lot of time to garner “pre-law” experience. You are just a freshman! Definitely rush!
