I am currently a sophomore and got a 211 on my PSAT (80 M 70 CR 61 W). I feel more comfortable with the current version of the SAT than the new one (more resources, historical docs seem scary). My question is this: Will taking the current SAT damage my college app even if I get a good score on it?

My son is taking the SAT in the fall and we will see how he does. I feel that as long as we plan enough (and he is a year younger so we have more time), he can retake as necessary.
I think colleges will be wise to students taking the old SAT one time as a “try” and not penalize them. I don’t see it hurting any school that super scores or takes the best score, as long as you can afford taking the test two or three times.
If you have not taken the SAT at all, the actual experience of sitting there for SO long is something that is helpful for later tries, IMHO.
