I'm applying ED1 to NYU Stern. I have a 3.61 gpa and a 35 ACT. I took the SAT 2 Math 2 test once and got a horrible 670. I have the option of taking the test tomorrow, but I would have to submit the score blind to NYU. Even if I get a 730, do you think that score would detract from my ACT score? Do you even think it's necessary to take the SAT 2 test again? Wouldn't my 35 ACT look better on it's own than with a 730 SAT Math 2 for Stern?

Considering that Stern is a top business school, I’m pretty sure they’d largely prefer applicants with a strong mathematical background. For example, Wharton Business School clearly states that successful applicants usually have demonstrated ability in their high school mathematical work such as Calculus. With this in mind, in my opinion it would be better if you take the SAT Math 2 for Stern (assuming you are confident of receiving a score higher than 750). Otherwise, there’s no point in submitting at 670/730 blind to Stern as it may be detrimental to your application (lots of other applicants to Stern most likely have 800s on the Math level 2). Depending on your predicted SAT Math 2 score and other elements of your application (such as a 5 on AP Calculus BC, USAMO/AIME etc.) you should definitely consider taking the exam.
