Hello, I recently scored a 1470 on my SAT (680 R, 790 M). Should I take it again a 4th time for a better superscore and possibly to raise my score to a 1500. My second test was the June SAT which had the horrible anti curve. My target schools are Yale and UCLA.
How much SAT preparation have you done? What were your scores each time that you took the SAT?
Are you in-state for UCLA? What do your grades look like?
What year are you in? Are you a senior in high school?
I have been doing a practice test a week so far. If I finalize my registration for the November SAT, I plan on doing practice everyday especially on reading and practice tests every 3 days. I am in-state, and I have a 4.6 GPA if I count my freshman year. I am a senior.

If your target is UCLA I’m not sure why you’re in this forum, but the very first thing you need to state will be what your weighted capped UC GPA is.
UC’s only use 10-11th grades in their GPA calculation. Here is the calculator and the UC’s will look at your UW UC GPA, Capped weighted UC GPA and Fully Weighted UC GPA.

9th grades are reviewed to make sure you passed all your a-g course requirements. Senior grades will be reviewed to make sure you maintain your provisional admission if accepted. Since you are asking about UCLA specifically, I will move this into the UCLA forum.
Below is the average capped weighted UC GPA for all the UC campuses along with SAT ranges:
2018 UC capped weighted GPA averages:
UCB: 4.23
UCLA: 4.23
UCSD: 4.16
UCSB: 4.13
UCI: 4.13
UCD: 4.11
UCSC: 3.96
UCR: 3.81
UCM: 3.71
2018 Data:
25th - 75th percentiles for SAT:
UCB: 1360-1540
UCLA: 1340-1540
UCSD: 1300-1520
UCSB: 1270-1500
UCD: 1220-1480
UCI: 1230-1490
UCSC: 1210-1450
UCR: 1130-1380
UCM: 1020-1280
Just realize that UCLA is a Reach school just like Yale, so apply and hope for the best but make sure you have some solid Safety and Match schools on your list. If you feel that taking the SAT another time will help your chances, then I would retake it.
Just remember GPA and test scores are not the only important aspects of your application for UCLA.
Below is how the application is reviewed:
* LOS ANGELES
- Very important: Academic GPA, Application essay, Rigor of secondary school record, Standardized test scores
- Important: Character/personal qualities, Extracurricular activities, Talent/ability, Volunteer work, Work experience
- Considered: First generation college student, Geographical residence, AP/IBHL exam scores
- Note: GPA, test scores, course work, number of and performance in honors and AP courses most important. Essay considered. Strong senior program important. Extracurricular activities, honors and awards also reviewed. For the College of Letters and Science, the applicant's major is not considered during the review process. The Henry Samueli School of Engineering and Applied Science admits students by declared major, with more emphasis on science and math programs. The School of Nursing also places more emphasis on science and math programs and requires the submission of an additional supplemental application. The School of the Arts and Architecture; Herb Alpert School of Music; and the School of Theater, Film and Television admit students by declared major (within the school), and put more emphasis on special talents through a review of portfolios and/or auditions, which are the most significant admission factors for these schools.
Ok I’ll keep this all in mind. Thank you for responding. Sorry for putting the discussion in the wrong place. I am new to this website.
@PleaseAcceptMe47: It is no problem, since it is my job to make sure the posted threads are in the right forum. Best of luck.
