Okay,
I am looking at going to LSU. To gain instate tuition, I need a 1250 SAT (out of 1600)
The first time I took the SAT, I got a 1240 (670CR+570M)
Then I took it again and got a 1230 (610CR+620M)
and then I took it AGAIN and got a 1230 (610+620M)
BTW, my W is a 680, but that doesn't matter really.
I studied a little the second and third time, but I guess not taking English this year has hurt me (or I was just lucky my first time in CR, since I didn't really read the assigned books in English anyways).
A 1250 would mean $4,575 more per year. but I thought I would get a 1250 3x already. I felt like I did better this time. And, I can still afford to go, but more money is always nice. You can also use the ACT, but I only got a 25 on that (you need a 28 ACT).
Should I just stick with my current scholarship? I really don't want to take ANOTHER SAT, I feel over tested, but if it will get me the money, I'd do it. I don't think there is a high statistical chance of improving the 4th time, but it is only 10 points, but I have not been able to do it so far. I am a senior, but LSU said they will take SAT scores until August.
Please give me your advice,
Thanks

Ok
10 points is 1 more question right
suck it up and take the test
this is what u need to do
****don’t touch the writing section
use up all of your focus on the reading and math only. For the essay, doodle
for the multiple choice, fill in all b’s
save your energy for the math and critical reading.
Get grubers study guide, run through the vocab list, brush up on math, and you’ll get there

you really think so jeffy? Cuz i couldn’t do it the first 3 times…but if that is the consensus I’ll do it. Any more responses?

If you don’t mind sending a score with a bad writing score and if you only care about the scholarship, I’d follow Jeffy’s advice.

well the only sat I can really take is the May 1st one, so I don’t have too much time to study. You think that’ll be enough? I have studied a little before, but not really for the English part.

You would have to pay extra now… registration already passed for May 1st…

draw a cow on the essay section

Well I have written the same essay for all 3 SATs, got a 10 each time. The prompts are always so similar. So I never spend time thinking about that, lol.

You clearly need to change your strategy since your scores have plateaued. Maybe buy a book and do as many practice questions as you can. With some practice, I think you can start to recognize certain types of math problems and reading questions and your score will hopefully improve. Good luck!
