My dream school is the University of Michigan, and I would do anything to be admitted. I’ve already applied EA to LSA, and I am instate. While my 1440 SAT is right at the admissions average. my 3.738 GPA is slightly low (average at Umich is 3.87). Should I retake the SAT and try for a ~1480 to compensate for my low GPA? I’ve taken the SAT three times, and each time my score has increased 60-100 points. Unfortunately I have heard that retaking the SAT too many times is actually frowned upon (UMich knows I have already taken it three times). Also, an improved SAT would only help me if I was deferred as the EA deadline is Nov 1st. What do you guys recommend?
By the way, here are my full stats:
GPA: 4.01W, 3.73UW
Class Rank: 39/530 (top 7.36%)
SAT: 1440 (720M/720R&W)
APs Taken/Taking: (9/14 offered) Physics I, US History, Calc AB, Statistics, Calc BC, Composition, Literature, CS Principles, Chemistry
Dual Enrollment: CS classes Junior year at Eastern Michigan University (3 credits) and Senior year at UM Flint(10 credits).
Extracurriculars: Guide Dog Breeding Stock Host (raise and care for litters of future guide dogs), Piano, Cyber Patriot, NHS, Varsity Cross Country, Internship at Farm Bureau Insurance, Track Camp Volunteer, Club Baseball, Gleaners Food Bank Volunteer, Link Crew (organization dedicated to easing transition from middle to high school for freshman).
Thanks so much in advance!

I don’t think that I would. Retaking the SAT usually increases scores the first time, but there is a limit and scores will top out at some point.
I would however try very hard to keep your GPA as high as you can this semester. In some cases universities will wait for mid-term grades before deciding. I don’t know whether Michigan will do this or not. However, the cases that I have heard of where this was done are cases a lot like yours where students are close to the cutoff.
I assume that you have a backup such as MSU.
Yes, I also applied to MSU, MTech, Purdue, Maryland CP, Wisconsin Madison, and GATech. I’d really love to get into UMich though, fingers crossed.
