I am a junior who has taken the SAT twice. While my scores are quite high my math score on both exams was 30 points below my PSAT score, and my writing was 50 points below my Psat score. I am confident that I can raise these scores by taking the exam during my senior year. I am a little concerned, however, that top schools might take an unfavorable view of my taking it a third time? My current scores are above the average for almost all of my target schools, but not in the 75th percentile. Please advise?

If you will significantly improve, take it again.

Yes. Nothing to lose, right? Colleges will like to see that you improved.

yeah, i have the same problem too (except my scores were about average). i'm planning on taking it in october. but i think that taking it 3 times is a good solid number - any more or less and colleges might wonder whats up.

me too.................my math and writing are below expectation...
so i did take the third time last week....hoping for 2400 this time

Me too...I think i went 800 math high 700 (like 770+) or 800 and 650 reading

Can you guys answer my case?

I don't know my score yet (if I get 2100 or above, I'm leaving it at that), but if I take it again, it will be my 4th time. However, the first time I took it it was on the 1600 scale (the old one). If I take it again in October, will colleges see it as my 3rd time or my 4th time? I basically took the old one to see how I did, but colleges will only look at the new SAT scores since I am class of '07.
