I got a 2070 (CR: 680/M: 710/W: 680 Essay: 9) on my first try and I'm a junior. I'm scared that if I take it again I might get a lower score. Considering that I'm only a junior and that I'll be taking SAT prep in Phillips Academy Andover and I can study hard, should I take it again???

I want to apply to the elite schools like the ivies.

What kind of Universities can I get admission into with a 2070?

Many schools superscore the SAT (take the highest grade for each section). I'd suggest you find out if the schools you are most interested in superscore & if they do, then retake it. Otherwise, look at whether or not you fall into the interquartile range for the schools you are interested in, and decide based on that whether or not you want to retake it.

You will probably get a lot of responses that claim that 2070 is a very low score because of the nature of these boards. While it may not get you into the Ivy league (& if that's really where you want to end up, you should probably take it again), it is a respectable score. Remember that the national mean is 1500.

I would take it again in the fall, sure. With a little more time and prep, I'm sure you could raise it. Just take some practice tests over the summer, and if your score is going up, plan to take it again.

2070 is overall an excellent score, but yeah, probably on the low side for the Ivies. Nice job!

A 2070 is an extremely good baseline score. With sufficient preparation, you should be able to score well beyond 2100. If you want to apply to ivies, having 2100+ is a good idea,

if you're taking a prep course, why would you NOT want to retake? otherwise you'd just be taking that prep course for a test you're not even going to take....

if i'm applying to wesleyan with a 3.7 gpa (very competitive school) and i got a 2280, should i retake? this is an honest question, please respond if you can
