Ok you guys i have a problem. I took the ACT and SAT hoping to be able to send both to colleges. My SAT score was 1860 (no study) while my ACT score was 34. I still have to take SAT IIs. Should i take the SAT again in june and try to get 2200+ (which i think i can)? Or should i just disregard the SAT and just send in my ACT score and SAT IIs?

Colleges accept both tests equally so there really is no point in attempting the SAT again.

FYI...your stats profile says you got a 2080 on the SAT and you've given different scores in different threads?

Don't worry about the SAT. Colleges will only look at the ACT if it's the better score.

208 was my psat...i guess i should update it

can you take one of the tests in october? or are you applying early?

I wouldn't bother. They're going to ignore the SAT score because the ACT one is so much better.

Congrats on the great ACT score! Don't colleges accept either SAT Reasoning plus Sat IIs, OR the ACT?? Where are you applying, I mean, won't your ACT suffice?

No you don't have to worry about your SAT score. A 34 is in the 99th percentile I believe, so colleges will be fine with just that. Also I hope that ACT was with the writing portion, because that is a must.

Check the rules of all the colleges you are interested in applying to. Most should take the 34 on the ACT as a sign you are ready for that college--but check each college's rules. Also check the SAT II requirements.

My son took the SAT in March and got 2120. Two weeks ago he had major surgery and is missing 4-6 weeks of school, so in the short term, retake is off our radar screen as we try to get him well and back up to speed to save his jr year. His first choice is UVA does he need to retake this or will it serve as is and have him take a couple of SAT II's
Thanks for your input.

Um, I'm guessing that UVA stands for University of Virginia. Well according to the college board site and data on it (found here: http://apps.collegeboard.com/search/CollegeDetail.jsp?collegeId=2350&type=qfs&word=U)
Their middle 50% of students get around a 2100 (few points higher or lower). Judging by your son's score he should be fine in that aspect. If he must to calm his nerves he can take it the start of senior year. I suggest that you try to take some SATIIs, I believe that you can take it Octo. and Nov. Also you do not have to worry about the scores not making it for EA/ED.
