Should I take the SAT again?

Dude. DUDE! Higher SAT -> greater chances of acceptance. Period. Take it again if you think you can improve. It doesn't matter how many times you take it. Honest!

Lol. I guess if it doesn't hurt to take it again, I'm going for it. Oh yeah, and do you know how much schools care about the PSAT and National Merit? My friends who got National Merit last year told me that I would definitely be a finalist because I got a 224. Is that true?

You have to check what the score cutoff is for your individual state, since diff. states have diff. cutoffs.
There are several posts on this website about which PSAT scores will qualify for semifinalists in which states.

224 is very likely a semifinalist. 15,000 out of 16,000 semifinalists become finalists (i think, this is off top of my head. finalists must get their principal recommendation and some other stuff too i think, mostly just cursory)

@ashraf eassa: some people don't like sitting in a room for 3+ hours testing...

From this thread, the cutoff looks to be 216. I guess my friend is probably right.
