Just wondering if you think I should take the SAT again or if you think I'm fine with what I have. I got a 34 on my ACT, a 2050 on my SAT (730 M, 690 R, 630 W), as well as 760 on US History Subject test and 700 on Math II.

Basically I'm applying for Johns Hopkins ED and am wondering what would be the best thing to do at this point to increase my chances of getting in.

you should send your act score~ it converts to a 2260 on the SAT.
your SAT USH score is great, but your math level 2 score isn’t really too good.
you should re-take math 2c, keep your US score, and send your ACT; you’ll be good :P

You ACT score is great, but so are your SAT Scores! And I completely disagree that a 700 on your SAT II Math is something to worry about - that’s top 5% of all of the test takers, and those test takers tend to have greater ability (generally those that take the SAT II’s are higher achievers).

Just focus on the requirements of your chosen school/schools. If Johns Hopkins weighs SAT and ACT equally, then go with what you’ve got. BUT, if they tend to lean toward the SAT as more important, then perhaps you should consider taking it again. You’ve got time to work on the writing, and make sure your essay skills are where they need to be.

actually, 10% of the people who take the math level 2 test get an 800.
a 750 is in the 70th percentile, and the math level 2 test has a very generous curve.
though a 700 IS good, you might still want to retake, imo.

Well I’m retaking the SAT in October because my Dad wants me to since he has this notion that the SAT is somehow better than the ACT and I will be retaking the math level II test (I’m sure I can get higher) along with the chemistry subject test in November. Thanks for the input guys.

stated by many of the top schools, “act = sat”. they do not care. however, some universities (california for instance) likes SAT much better. u should retake the satIImath since it is easy to raise that score with just a little bit of practice. as for the chem subject test I recommend using barrons. lots of my friends got an 800 although they never scored above a 750 on their diag tests
