On the SAT, I got 440 Critical Reading, 640 Mathematics, and 610 Writing (1690 Total). I only did badly on the critical reading section so should retake the test. My concern is that If I improve on the critical reading but my mathematics and writing scores are lowered. Can I sent my highest scores in each section to the colleges? like I keep the 640 Mathematics, and 610 Writing and only enhance my critical section.

Sorry, but 440 CR definitely is far from enough, and I suggest you should retake SAT. And I think once you already got 610 and 640, you can definitely keep it if you retake the test.

You definitely need to retake.

Some schools will “super score” and take the best section from each sitting.

Get a practice book and find out why you’re having problems with the CR. Keep it by your bed and read parts of the front sections every night before sleep - great tips are there. Each night learn one or two new vocab words.

Are you finishing the CR sections? Are you having vocab problems?

What schools are you considering and will you need/qualify for financial aid. If so, keep in mind that often better FA packages are given to those with better stats.

Also take the ACT, some do better with that.

You should retake it

Sorry for jumping to this thread.
Can anyone offer suggestions how to improve CR score? Where to find a good tutor in my bay area?

You should retake it since you can choose score to submit to college. Hope you get better score :)
