Should I take the SAT at least once? Cold?

Hey guys

I am a junior this year and I recently retook the ACT.
In April 2016 I got a 33. I just took the September 2016 test and I got a 35!!! Very happy
No outliers, strong scores all around: 35E 34M 35R 34S (writing yet to be posted, but I feel confident)

Now my question is, should I bother taking the SAT? I know colleges only require one test. Do I need to take both?
I’m getting mixed responses from counselors and friends. Some are saying to take it, as I may do very well and choose to send that score. Others are saying that it is pointless because colleges only require one and a 35 is phenomenal. Should I take it just to see how I do? Should I prepare or just take it cold?

In terms of colleges, I’m looking at Yale, Brown, Harvard, Princeton, Duke, SUNY ESF, NYU, Dartmouth, UCF, U of Wisconsin Madison, UF, and Colgate.

I am open to all opinions.

bumpp

The 35 is outstanding. Absolutely no need to try the SAT as you are already at 99th percentile and those schools accept either test.

Skip the SAT. You’d have to get a 1570 to equal your 35 ACT.

Unless… You’re a junior, correct? This fall, if you’re taking the PSAT, it might be worth a practice PSAT/SAT test or two to see if you’d be in the range of qualifying for national merit. If you get a qualifying score on the PSAT, then you’d have to take the SAT to obtain a confirming score in the same range.

Skip the SAT. You have a great score.

If you’re a NMSF and you want to move to Finalist, then u need to take the SAT to qualify.

Otherwise, it’s not necessary.

At 35 on the ACT you won’t need to study much for the SAT for NMF qualification.

Don’t bother. Your score is great.

Yes I am a junior
Writing scores just got posted… I got an 8. Will this hurt me?
Is this a bad score for selective schools? I felt like my essay was way more than an 8 :frowning:
