Should I take the SAT for a 4th time?

Okay so I am seriously considering taking the SAT for a fourth time. As long as the school excepts score choice it won't matter how many times I take it, right?

1st time: 1510 CR:620, M:440, W:450, E:6

2nd time: 1780 CR:690, M:520, W:590, E:8

3rd time: 1760 CR:700, Math:500, W:560, E: 8

Super Score: 1810

Or should I accept that I am an idiot and will never be able to score any higher?

Well, man i honestly cant understand how after 8 months of tutoring you get 560 on WR on your third time.I dont pretend to be super smart or anything, but I am an international student, not native speaker and without spending a single $ on tutoring I got 630 on my first time (without studying at all for the SAT) and will probably score 740 in June because now after 4 months of self-studying I hardly make more than 3-4 errors on MQ and my essays are quite good (10+) according to my English teachers at high school

I think you should definitely take the test for the fourth time ,but you need to prepare well.500 M ?There are so many concepts you dont know.Even if you skip the last 4 questions of each section you can still score in the range of 580-620 !

What a CR score. It is so nice that you achieved such CR score but just think about it ?Many perfect math students who score 760+ on SAT math and 680+ on SAT WR are complaining that CR is extremely hard and it basically prevents them from getting into colleges they deserve. But you are apparently good at CR ? SO think about it

Do you want some 6th grade math and grammar to stop you from getting at least 2000 on the SAT ?Prepare and go for it !

there a reason why u shouldnt more than 3 sats but i cant remember what it is…

You can take the SAT as many times as you like, since most colleges now adopt the “superscore” policy.

Have you considered setting up another College Board account and take the SAT as your first time no?

The imbalance between your CR and W is odd–it seems to me that you should be able to do better on the W with decent prep. I think maybe you need a different tutor, though, because they sure didn’t help much between your second and third time. Was the first time a lot earlier?

First time was Nov '08, 2nd was March '09, and the most recent was May.

I am not sure why my writing is so poor. I know partly because of my essay but I only got 55 of the MCs. I know the grammar rules but apparently not well enough, I score better though on practice tests.

My math is because I am in general slow in math. I understand all of the problems but I just can’t get to them fast enough, I probably left 6 or 7 blank at the end of each section. When I work on practice tests I get the majority of the problems right but probably take double the time. I also tend to fall for all of the SAT’s traps.

I will be taking the ACT so I guess I’ll wait and see how I do on that first. I think the ACT math is a little more straight forward even if their is less time.

4th time seems a bit excessive. Go for the ACT.

Plus…you’re not an idiot…the SATs were never designed to measure inteligence.

is it possible to set up another account on cb and take SAT again as the 1st time?.. no right?

1st in Jan: CR 540, WR 640, M 740, total 1920
2nd in May: CR 510, WR 620, M 770, total 1900
what a nightmare…

now i plan to take SAT again in oct…
or should i take ACT instead? I’m an international student but i don’t see so many international students take ACT. Why? is there any advantage of taking ACT instead of SAT? (e.g. ACt is easier compared to SAt or something like that?)

With the introduction of score choice,

there’s no reason to limit your test scores to 3.

Before, you would have to send all your scores to I guess… and if you had taken 3+ it looked bad.

Well, theoretically ,if you make another account, register under different address and pay with other Credit Card ,it will probably work. ( of course,u should do it from other computer) :)

So the general consensus is to take it as many times as it takes?

An 1800 does not make you an “idiot”. It is probably better than 80 percent of test takers. If YOU are an idiot, what does that make then?

Higher Education Professionals | College Board;

Donate that $45 to someone who needs it for food. It seems to me like you’ve scored around your potential, and - luckily for you - your potential happens to be way above average! Don’t let anybody tell you that 1810 is not a good score, because it really is. Spend your time on something else that will give you a boost in admissions, and best of luck.

1810 doesn’t mean you’re an idiot. it does mean you need to consider what kind of schools you think you can be successful at.

don’t try making another account. it is pracitcally impossible, and if you try to pull something like that on a college, they may consider it akin to fraud.
