Should I take the SAT if I'm going to community college, then transfer to University?

My teacher told me to take it so I don't miss the money awards when I apply for colleges.

No. It’s not required. Only liberal arts schools may want you to take it, but you can take it some other time. You don’t need to take the SAT to get into a 4 year university if you’re transferring from a community college. Your high school grades will not matter, only your community college grades. You basically get a clean slate. But don’t screw up.

Is it worth taking the SAT if I’m going for scholarships?

At our community college, SAT scores can get you out of taking the placement exams.
