I took the May SAT, and I am sure I will want to take the SAT again... I need really good SATs. But I'm planing to take two SAT Subject Tests in June (in US History and Literature) because I'm currently enrolled in US History and the subject matter will be fresh in my mind. If I did this I would take the SAT for the 2nd time in October.

If I take the SAT in October what are the chances that my scores will get in to W&M by the time that they need to? I really can't take them in June, because if I don't get into W&M I would like to have subject tests for some other schools I'm considering. I have read that they will be on October 1st, but I'm not sure.

I need to make a decision fast, so your response is appreciated greatly.

Thanks :D

Our S applied ED for the Class of 2015. He took the SAT in the spring of his Jr. year; the ACT in Sept of his Senior year and the SAT again in OCT of his Senior year. The OCT SAT results were received by W&M admissions in time to be considered to his ED app. He was accepted ED. I know the deadline for the ED app is Nov1(i recall). In our experience ,if the app is not complete ,admissions will email the student to fill in the missing part. Our S received an email indicating a missing part (the missing was not a SAT result). Admissions, will you send out a request for SAT results or is that in the College Board realm of respondsibility? I also seem to recall one could pay "extra " for the College Board to send your results faster. IDK, I may be wrong about that. Best of luck with your college app process.

Thanks for the advice. I’m going to go ahead and take the ACT in Sept and the SAT again in Oct, just to be sure.

Berliner, the application deadline is November 1. Come mid November, if we’re missing a required component of the application, we will email the student letting them know what we’re missing and instructing them as to how to send those materials to us.

If a student is missing a standardized test (meaning we have neither an ACT or SAT exam on record) we will email the student requesting those results. However, even if a student is taking an October test, in order to apply ED they should have an earlier exam already completed and submitted to us by November 1 if at all possible. We will not contact a student if October scores are not received because all we require to complete an application is one ACT or SAT result.

You can pay extra to have scores rushed meaning they are sent to colleges and universities faster however, recognizing that applying to colleges is an expensive endeavor we never want any student to feel like rushing scores is necessary.
