should i take the sat this june or next year?

<p>hey everyone,</p>

<p>im a junior, took the march sat and got a 2140, which was really dissapointing seeing that my score dropped 100 points from my PSAT score!</p>

<p>I the math2 and chemistry SAT II's this month as well. I think I got an 800 chem, and I was really hoping for an 800 math but I don't think I got it (3 blank and 1 really stupid mistake that I'm aware of at this point).</p>

<p>I definately want to retake the SAT I. I also want to take the SATII Spanish, and maybe retake the SATII math and go for 800.</p>

<p>I was originally planning to take the SAT I this june, and then take the spanish and possible the math2 satII next october (so that would be my senior year. I hear that you get your scores back for the oct. test in time for early decision applications. is that true?).</p>

<p>However, recently I've been considering taking the SATII spanish this year in june, as well as the SATII math again (becuase spanish will be fresh in my mind this june, and precalculus as well for the math satII. I'll be in AP Spanish next year). Then I would retake the SATI in october of next year. That would give me a bit more breathing room to prep for the SATI.</p>

<p>The only thing is that people are generally telling me that I shouldn't do this. They say I should take the satI this june, and the SATII in oct. I'm kinda in a dilemma. Can you offer me any advice? What should I do? Thanks a lot.</p>

<p>2100+ is a fine score, but it really depends on what schools you are interested in. Some schools still require 3 SAT subject tests. Others prefer to see different disciplines. Retaking a ~770 is silly, IMO, unless SpanII is the only other SAT subject test you would be taking.</p>

<p>btw: My S is in a similar situation to you, and I advised taking the Subject test in June while the material is fresh, and re-taking SAT I in Oct.</p>

<p>I actually took my SATIIs in may, the same week as my AP exams so that I could study for everything at the same time. I'm going to take my SATI in june and again in October, to give me more "breathing room" like you said. So if I were you, I'd take the SATIIs in june and after summer vacation take the SATI. That way you can get anything having to do with school subjects out of the way and focus on your new classes and SATI senior year.</p>
