I'm applying to UP and their average score is 27 (1210/1600). I took the June ACT and got 24 (1090/1600), without studying, so I'm trying to bump my score by a couple points by September. I want to see my new score before sending it so I want to apply to UP mid October at the latest.

I've read that students who apply between July and October for rolling admissions schools have a better chance of being accepted if they're below the school's averages so I'm not sure if I should take the October SAT. I'd want to see my score before sending it, so I wouldn't be able to apply until November. However, I did score 1140/1600 on the PSAT so I do think I would do slightly better on the SAT, especially since I didn't study for the PSAT and took it the beginning of junior year.

Is applying after the desired window worth taking a chance on the SAT? Or should I just focus on the ACT?
I don't think I should wait until after seeing my ACT score to decide just because the little time I'd have to study for the SAT.
