I think your grades are too low for NYU. If you were to apply and take the SATs, your score would have to be really high to counter this. Plus your extracurriculars aren't as impressive as US applicants.

never hurts to try--boston might accept you!

i'd say boston is a better match, but like an above poster said, you'll need pretty high SATS, and yes you should definitely take them. Study hard! Good luck!

its always better to try. you never know if you dont.

ur grades are fine for NYU...in Canada the avg scores are lower than in america, its just the way they grade there

meandthebean, every student is required to take the SATs, even Canadian applicants. And yes, your grades will put you in the NYU 'range' so don't worry about that. The admissions people know that the grade scale in Canada is different than in the U.S.

yes i know that in order to apply for most american colleges and universities the SATs are required but i just wasnt sure if my grades were up to standards to apply to NYU or else it would have been a waste of money and time to take the SATS. But as an international student am i eligible for finiancial aid or is that out of the question?

yes i forgot that canada grades "harder" in the sense that one guy was explaining that his 90 there was comparable to a 97 here...so you probably have a good shot.
