I took the new SAT in June and scored 1590 with 18/24 for the writing section. Should I take the ACT? I’m mainly considering it because my SAT essay score is a bit low. Although most colleges I’m applying to do not require the SAT essay score, people’s been saying that not submitting the essay score puts you at a disadvantage. Is it true?
Congratulations you are done with testing. Don’t worry about the essay score. No one’s going to pass over a 1590 SAT because the essay is low. Focus on your college essays going forward.
Agree. You’re solid with a 1590, and the colleges know the essays on SAT and ACT this year are simply meaningless. They’re more interested in your upcoming app essays. Congrats on your score accomplishment!
