Should I take these AP exams??

I'm currently a senior in high school, and I have to turn in money and forms for AP exams by the last week of March. In the past two years, I've taken AP tests for all the AP classes I was in that year, but that was well before I knew what colleges I'd be applying to, and money is going to be more of an issue this year, so I don't want to necessarily take AP exams in all my classes. I've been accepted to UT Knoxville and Emory and am waiting to hear back from Vandy, UChicago, Wash U, Duke, Georgetown, Princeton, Columbia, and UPenn. I want to major in pre-med/biology. This year, I took AP Calculus BC, AP Literature and Composition, AP European History, AP Macroeconomics, and AP Government.

I think I'm taking AP Calc BC for sure, since I know 2 years of calc are required for medical school. However, I'm not sure about the rest, especially the last three. Even if I did get credit for taking those AP exams, are the courses corresponding with AP Euro, Macro, and Gov even required for medical school? Would they help me fulfill any course requirements?

Thanks!

You can look up the universities you are likely to go to in order to see which AP credit is worth something at each university.

However, note that medical schools usually do not accept AP credit in lieu of pre-med courses, although they often allow taking more advanced courses instead of the usual introductory ones. Calculus, if required, is sometimes an exception, but check with each medical school to be sure.

Note that you do not need to major in biology to do pre-med, since the pre-med courses can be taken around any major.

I’ll probably just go with Calc… maybe Lit, too. I’m still not 100% sure yet.
