Should I take these classes?

Hello CCers! I was hoping you all could help me with picking my schedule next year. This may seem odd but I was wanting to skip AP Physics B and go straight into AP Physics C. I was thinking this might look better for colleges. People have done this at my school and they have gotten an A in it so I figured I could too. I was also thinking I could dual enroll over the summer in a physics course at my local community college. Not only would this help me prepare for AP Physics C, it would also boost my GPA (I'm ranked second in my class, but I want to be first) I'm very interested in Physics and it's a major that interests me. I don't know if skipping AP Physics B would be wise since that's a possible career path for me.

Another thing was whether I should take a math class at the community college, maybe College Algebra or something. This would boost my GPA and probably make me first in my class. I don't know if this would look good to colleges because it may seem that I only care about my GPA. Any advice or suggestions? All comments are appreciated.

“I was thinking this might look better for colleges.”

Not a solid thought process when it comes to admissions.

“I’m very interested in Physics and it’s a major that interests me.”

^ The above should be the thought process when choosing your classes. Pursue your interests, not what make you look good for colleges.

Take it, I’m currently enrolled in Physics C and so far it’s good (only first day lolz). You don’t need Physics B first.

“I don’t know if this would look good to colleges because it may seem that I only care about my GPA.”

To be honest, I really don’t think that they would be able to tell. That being said, you need to stop the mentality of what looks good to colleges. It won’t get you far in the admissions process.
