So I am an international student who came to the US to go a high school starting my sophomore year. My chemistry and physics credits were transferred so I did not take these classes again. But here's the problem. Even though my physics and chemistry grades were quite good back when I was a freshman, these courses were not taught in English in my country. Now I really lack the English proficiency in these two subject. That basically means if I am going to take the subject tests in November, I will have to re-memorize the English version of all the vocabulary and the theories of these two subjects in less than a month. That sounds very painful... Also, it's been more than two year that I have not learned anything about these two subjects, so I have already forgotten most of what I learned two years ago.

I don't know if I can handle such a heavy load of studying in such a short period of time. What do you guys think?

BTW I am also preparing for the math level 2

Why the hell are you worrying about subject test scores when you’re only a sophomore? Prepare for ONE of Chemistry or Physics, and take it in May or June. Keep preparing for Math. Then, take the other 2 during your Junior year.

It’s too early for you to start worrying about subject tests.

Yeah maybe I didn’t clarify. I came to the US two tears ago after my freshman year. So I am a senior now.

My bad. Yeah, if you are a senior, I’d be pretty worried. Take the Math 2C and 1 Science you are more comfortable in. It’s better if you can take 3, but given your time, I’d say it would be counterproductive as you would be cramming too much.

What schools are you applying to? Some don’t require any subject tests. Since you’re talking about the MathII and sciences, I’m assuming you might be applying somewhere like MIT that requires them. If that’s the case, excel at the MathII, then pick the ONE science you’re better at. It’s not worth taking more then that, unless your school requires it.

In fact, none of the schools I’m applying to requires any subject test. I am just following the trend that many Asian students are taking these 3 subject tests because they usually excel at them. Most of the universities on my list are ranked 30-50. Other than that, it is just UCLA that is ranked top 30. I will major in engineering, and that’s why I am considering taking these 3 subject tests. Thanks for your advice!! I am probably going to take only physics and math II
