Should I take Trig or Pre-calc first?

At my college the catalog recommends taking Pre-calculus before taking Trigonometry. I thought it was weird since most high schools have you take Trig first so I asked my counselor and she basically didn’t have an answer. So I trusted the catalog rec and signed up for a Pre-calc class. Do you need to know Trig to do Pre-calc? I thought it would be fine but now I’m worried since I heard there are some parts of Trig in Pre-calc and I’ve never taken either. I’m not trying to skip Trig, I was going to take it after pre-calc like the catalog recommends. Should it be okay? Or should I try to change my shedule last minute for a Trig class?
(Sorry if this isn’t really the right forum, I’m new and I’m not sure where this question would go, I just know I’m a transfer student lol)

I find that really odd I hope you looking at it right. Trig is used in Pre-cal maybe 40% of the time. In my school I you need to take trig then pre-calc. The best advice I would give you is directly email any pre-cal and trig instructor and ask them what he recommend or how heavy his pre-cal class relies on trig. Dont forget to send the email from your school email so you know they will get it.
