Should I take up Physics minor?

I am planning on becoming either an electrical or mechanical engineer. However I am really interested and always wanted to learn more about physics. With the work load of an engineer, is a physics minor plausible? Considering how tough a physics major is, is physics minor as tough and is it worth taking with the difficulty of engineering. Knowing its tough, also is it worth the GPA hit if I am planning on going to grad school?

About my self, I am not the brightest kid. This doesn't mean Im stupid, I am certainly above most students at my school but recognize im not the smartest in my public high school when comparing myself to the top 3 or 2. I however do have immense interest in these fields.

I would also like to hear an opinion about this. I will begin my college career this fall and I am thinking about adding MechE, physics or math minor to my aerospace engineering major simply because I enjoy those topics. I am mainly concerned if it is possible to do and graduate in 8 semesters while never taking more than 17 credits during semesters 2-8 and 15 credits during first semester.
