Should I talk about this in the "Additional Information" section?

My upward trend in grades and my subpar early grades? Just a short, brief explanation of why (home and family issues), and why I changed, how it made me better, etc. No heavy excuse making or plea copping.

PS: This is a re-post of another thread because its not letting me post comments in that other one for some reason

That’s pretty much exactly what I did. I didn’t write about family life in my main essay but I felt that my application would be incomplete without a description.
