Hi guys, I founded an aviation club at my school. Long story's short, it's very successful, and a couple professors from UNT and other schools have emailed me, interested in what has happened and giving me advice. My question is, can I email a professor first? My dream school is rice, and I'd love to talk to a professor in the aerospace engineering program about advice, suggestions, or recommendations for the future of both the club and myself. Plus, it might help my chances of getting in.

Long story short, should I talk to them and try to start a convo, or are they too busy or too important to talk to a high schooler? I'm not just trying to get in easier, I genuinely care about his/her opinions. What do you think?!
Thanks!
