Should I talk to my supervisor for my math course?

I am an incoming junior and will be taking Algebra 2 CP. I have always been a solid A math student (I live an breathe math) and I was wondering if it would be good to go talk to the math supervisor to “upgrade” me into Alg 2 Honors. I will have to ask in the second week of school (they make our first week all half days and no one can stay after school). I don’t know if it would be too late or if I should just deal with it. Any advice?

I think that you should talk to your supervisor and/or guidance counselor and/or the math teacher as soon as you can. If you are very good at math then honors should be okay at this point.

In my school, those types of changes happen in March, not July.

My school is competitive so changes in math are VERY rare and only the supervisor can make them. Im surprised my friends from other schools can get into ap’s with b’s and c’s when in my school for AP chem theres a pre req of four classes (who also have more pre reqs) and you need a solid 100 to move up

How did you do in algebra 1 and geometry? Were they college prep or honors level. At our high school if you are in college prep and want to move up most of the time they will only let you if you pay for a specific summer class. The class meets Monday through Friday 8-12 for 4 weeks and you can’t miss more than 1 day, must do every single assignment, quiz and test etc and get a minimum grade (not sure what it is).

I got into Algebra 1 and Geometry because how our path way works and they were cp as well.

If you have any chance, I would do it as soon as possible. All they can say is no.Or you can ask if you can prepare or take an entrance test.
