Should i tell them my class rank?

I'm a senior in high school btw
Academic GPA 3.4419:
Class rank: 318 out of 602

Unweighted GPA 3.3953
class rank:294 out of 602
Freshman year really killed my gpa :/. Anyway should I leave school ranking blank if a school I'm applying to asks for it or makes it optional?

I think if your school ranks you have to report it. Seems like yours is really competitive, regardless it’s still mandatory I think.

I have heard that it is best not to report it (if possible, of course) unless in top 10%.

So in your case I definitely would not.

Okay thanks everyone:)

I’m not so sure that class rank is optional if your school does them. does anyone else know about this?

Well I am not sure about your case, but I can speak about my own. My GPA is 3.91 and yet my rank is only top 20% (102/530). Although the rank is lower than I would like, including it shows how competitive my high school is, therefore putting me in a better light. I would talk to the counselor and get their opinion. Good Luck!

Also, I would appreciate it if someone could comment on my thread:http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/college-admissions/1233028-accelerated-program-chances.html

Or maybe how extremely your high school’s grading standards are inflated?
