Should I text or should I wait?

Ever feel like when you text someone, you're annoying them? This is how I feel most of the time. I know it may sound stupid, but I think that if they don't text me, they most likely don't want to receive one from my cell, so I end up not waiting for a text from them, which usually doesn't happen (I end up getting texts from other people, instead of the person I want, or no texts at all).

Am I right, or is it all in my head?

I’m so confused lol. Trust me, most of the time when they don’t text you back, it’s because they are away from their phone or its off. My phone is like always off (I forget to turn it on when I wake up) so when it opens the inbox is full of texts from hours ago. One friend, bless his soul, never gives up and keeps texting me even when my phone is off. Haha he understands that I’m not ignoring him.

Basically, most of the time, they aren’t ignoring you and they aren’t annoyed by you.

No, I know how you feel.

I’d say if it’s been an hour or two and you still haven’t gotten a response from the person you want, go ahead and text them. If they get annoyed, then that’s their problem.

^^Same here. Except when I open my phone, it’s full of texts from a week ago. I’m so bad about opening my phone.

There’s this facebook group called “Guys, text me first or we’re not talking today” (or something along those lines). As long as you don’t text excessively, she’ll most likely welcome your text. And if she doesn’t respond, she’s probably just away from her phone or forgot to respond.

I find it hard to believe that an occasional text will annoy her.

I know how you feel. I end up not texting the person and then the next day at school…

person I wanted to text: hey, trumpetgrl! Why didn’t you text me?
Me: I thought you were busy…
person I wanted to text: I wasn’t, you should’ve texted me.
Me: I’m sorry, you should call me tonight…
person I wanted to text: I will :]

^^ Unless she has a protective boyfriend = p

^^ (again) lol and why did you assume it was for guys talking to girls?

EDIT: Totally misunderstood olleger’s post.

What Matt said.

This was the guy who had the problem with that girl who texted him for 5 hours straight, it’s probably because of that.

@MattNC, actually it isn’t :P

I was just talking about friends in general, when they don’t text you, do you feel like texting them would **** them off.

oh, my mistake. I wouldn’t worry too much about it then, if you want to, text them. It’s just a text it’s not a 3 hour meaningless phone call.

No. But then, I text my close friends to gossip. So for most cases, people won’t get annoyed.
The result may vary accordingly though.

Should I choose the smoothest course?
Steady as the beating drum
Should I text something like “um?”
Is all my waiting at an end
Or do you still wait for me, texter
Just beyond the waiting end!

That was really bad. Someone’s rolling in the grave.

Maybe just a “lol” or “k.”
What reaction will be on display?
Anger, sadness, or dismay?
What to text back, that is the question,
There was no expression, no excitement, no interjection.
I’m confused, so perused by one letter phrase,
Please tell me now how to break the silent haze.

IMPROVISATION FTL/W?
