Should I transfer from my CC after one year or wait two years? Please answer my question!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hello everyone,

Currently I’m a student in a community college and I have 4.0 GPA. By the end of the spring quarter, I will have finished one year in my CC. So my question is should I transfer after one and wait to get my associated degree and transfer after two years. I already applied to couples of schools and I know the admission process might be a bit hard for me, meaning they might look at my high school transcript but I don’t have a problem with that because I had high GPA in high school and also the financial cost isn’t a problem either. My concern is: is it better to wait two years so I can cover more subject in my major before I transfer? Also, if I wait two years before transferring, in the 4-year institution, will I be competing with students who will have already taken all their prerequisites in the same university whereas, I’ll have taken them in a community college and the quality of education might not be as good, so will I be behind? For that reason, is it better to transfer after one year? one last thing, can I still keep a high GPA if I transfer after two years because I might not be used to the teaching system in the 4-year institution? and btw, I’m an international student if that would make an difference.

Please help me decide and share your experience for those of you who transfer after one or two years.

Thank you so much. I appreciate your time and help!

Depends upon where you plan to apply and if they accept lower division transfers.

I applied to UW Seattle and university of SD
