Should I transfer to Cornell from Washington University in St. Louis?

I have been offered a guaranteed transfer for sophomore year to Cornell. I would be transferring to the CALS school and have pretty much completed the transfer application. However, I would have to take a summer bio class to fulfill transfer requirements in order to matriculate at Cornell.
My parents want me to do it because to them Cornell is more prestigious,$15,000 cheaper than WashU since I’m a NY state resident (67,000 vs 50,000) and is closer to home.
I understand that Cornell will be cheaper but I’ve made friends at WashU and have acclimated to the lifestyle here.

What your opinions on this matter? Should I transfer?

I say go for it. $15,000 for the next 3 years is a lot, and I am sure that you will make new friends at Cornell.

This decision is up to you and your family. How difficult is it for you to come up with that extra $15k each year? What is your long-range goal? (for example, if you think you are headed to med school, saving money now makes a lot of sense).

Echo what above posters stated. Really comes down to what you value more and if how significant $45k is for you.

But personally, if I was in your position i would stay.
