hey guys,
I’ve been reading so many forums this past week and I’m still conflicted on where to go. This is my second rejection from UCLA as a transfer student (my first was when I was a senior in hs) so I’m left with UCSB, UCI, and UCSD. I read that UCSB has a pretty good film/media studies program and I can see they’ve been trying to incorporate some hands-on production in their program (based on the student film productions posted on their website). But then I also got a regents scholarship to UCI. I looked into their film/media studies program and they mostly focus on the history, theory, and criticism of films but compared to UCSB it probably isn’t as great (in my opinion). For UCSD i got into their visual arts media program but got disappointed when I couldn’t dig out any more info from their website like any student works or internships.
My dream is to break into the film and entertainment industry and work my way up from there. These mid-tier UCs are all roughly similar for this major. The scholarship I got at UCI is a big incentive for me to not cross it off my list yet. I still need help after doing so much research. Which UC should I go to that will best allow me to get internships and network in this field? Thank you.
